            Applied Mathematics and Energy Data Science

            Program Introduction

            Applied Mathematics and Energy Data Science is aimed to solving complex problems in the process of energy exploration, development, storage and transportation (especially oil and gas engineering). We try to establish the mathematical models with practical application scenarios based on the interdisciplinary of mathematics with mechanics, control science and engineering, and carry out the fundamental theory and application research on model solving and qualitative analysis, calculation method, numerical simulation, data processing and intelligent optimization by the basic theory and method in applied mathematics and data science. This discipline is a new cross-integrated discipline established on the basis of the three first-level disciplines of oil and gas engineering, mechanics, control science and engineering. It is based on the theories and methods of mathematics and statistics, guided by the national and local energy demands, focuses on the key scientific problems, conducts theoretical and applied research, and promotes the development of industrial and mathematical theories in the energy industry.
