            Petroleum Engineering

            Objectives

            The program is designed for students:

            (1) To learn essential knowledge and skills in Petroleum Engineering, including drilling, completion, production and oil & gas field development, etc. and basic theories and principles of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geology and Mechanics.  

            (2) To gain ability in problem analysis and solving, engineering design, construction and management, innovative thinking, information retrieval and tool use.   

            (3) To develop a global vision, adaptability to environment, team spirit and lifelong learning awareness. 

            (4) To learn basic skills and methods of scientific research by conducting experiments, interpreting data and solving engineering problems. 

            (5) To become all-round developed professionals specializing in Petroleum Engineering.

            Graduation & Degree Requirements

            Duration of Program: 4 years.

            Degree Awarded: BE (Bachelor of Engineering). 

            Total Credits: no fewer than 187 credits.

            English Requirements: CET-4 (College English Test Band 4). 

            Career Prospects

            Graduates may choose to: 

            (1) Continue their studies in Petroleum Engineering or related fields. 

            (2) Work as engineers or engineering managers for oil enterprises, including state-owned ones and international ones. 

            (3) Work for public institutions.
